I have been very busy, getting ready for a huge craft show. The craft show will be held in Great Falls, Montana, at an exclusive Christmas show. You have to literally be judged to get into it. It was very exciting to see my work being judged by a professional. I didn't think I would make it, but then the judge announced that they wanted me to make 60 jars of the item.
So, I will be covering 60 jars from today until Sunday. Sunday is my due date to turn them all in and be placed in the rooms where they will be selling goods. They called my work "unique" and "inspirational" and that touched me the most.
Yes, I can make normal stuff. I don't often like to, since I like the darker side of my art now, but I think it's good for artists to have different skills.
I will be making 5 12 days of Christmas necklaces that got accepted. They will come with sworovski crystals and matching bracelets in sterling silver. I will also be making my swarovski angel keychain's. These are not a new item, but they did not normally sell well before. Now I have a rude awakening- people love religious items and quirky creations. They especially love one-of-a-kind and my jars are one-of-a- kind.
My other "normal" venture has been creating vulva's for fellow feminists and friends. I enjoy making these. I am not here to step on toes, or to slap it in your face. I simply enjoy making them and selling them at a reasonable price for women.
I have a family member who has recently been struck with cervical cancer. She wanted a humorous piece- she also happens to be a lesbian. I decided to make her Deviant Lesbian and it has been my best seller. I make all of my vulva's unique and one of a kind. No two rainbows in a Deviant Lesbian will be alike. Some vulva pieces will never be duplicated. I like to keep my art as unique as possible. I don't want to be the type of artist who just makes the same thing over and over- that is how you can get into a bad creative funk.
If you would like to see some of my vulva pendants, you can see them at my Etsy. I think you can even view them in my Mini Etsy.
I hope that I have explained my disappearance for awhile. When my jars are all done, I will show you the massive amount that I had to decorate and prepare myself. I have been a little behind on orders, but my customers and friends have been WONDERFUL.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding. I also had a recent death in the family, but I don't like to blog about personal things. I believe blogs should be cheerful and inspirational- not a pity party. But I am doing OK...I just miss her every day.
This is home to my zombie inspired creations. I have always loved horror movies as a child and I thought I could turn zombies into jewelry! I have been working with polymer clay for a year now and I believe that this is what I'm meant to do. I would love to meet other artists in this genre, or just fans of horror movies in general. Please feel free to add my blog. I will always update on my current zombie projects!

What's up? I've been accepted!
I have not forgotten this blog, but I will be on vacation soon. I have been accepted in a Christmas show at Paris Gibson Square in Montana. It's a big deal for this small town, since you can make $500 in just one show. I'm planning on selling my "normal" Christmas decorations and jewelry. The Holiday jars that I will be making, will definitely remind you of deco den jewelry. I may post them in my Deviant Lolita section!
I will also be making 12 days of Christmas necklaces and bracelets with swarovski stones. This is a complete 360 for me, since I am used to making zombies. I didn't think I'd be good at "normal" jewelry and now it's been accepted! I couldn't be happier, really.
My zombie stuff will be updated on my fanpage. I am doing a one of a kind bracelet for my fans and I hope they enjoy it. It's a way of saying thanks and showing my improved skills.
I like knowing that I make zombie jewelry with a different technique and my own style. I think I would love to go into FX and really study that medium. I think it could be my future dream job.
You can find my fanpage at: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/DeviantCandyShop?ref=ts
At 500 fans I am doing a Halloween giveaway and I might include one of my new realistic cupcakes.
If you would like one of my Halloween cupcakes, or a custom cupcake, or zombie jewelry, you can contact me at my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DeviantCandy

I admit I am guilty of neglecting this blog. I will no longer do that, I promise! I have a few new things to share with you. I have been inspired by vials and more cyclop pendants. The vials are coming along well and the cyclop pendants are being sketched out today.
I don't really have much to say, except that I will also have a few trades to show off too! I hope you can forgive my laziness and accept my future post. I am also going to be doing an interview for a blog.
Needless to say, I have had a busy week. My fans have now reached almost 250 and I plan on doing another contest. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate in my Etsy shop and will be picked at random.

Icecream That Bites Back!
I have been inspired by our favorite summer treat lately: ice cream!
I thought that I should turn our favorite treat, into a zombie! I can make him into different colors and sizes for the zombie fan at heart! I plan on making more zombie food items and calling them "Zombie Snacks" on my Etsy page. He will be posted on my Etsy tonight and you can have your very own zombie ice cream cone!
He is made out of polymer clay and my weird imagination :)!
He measures at 1 1/2 inches, so he is a large charm compared to my others. You can request size, color, for your custom zombie ice cream cone!
I hope you enjoyed my new zombie creation and I look forward to sharing more with you!

I decided to get going on Christmas in July a little early this year...I'm just going to show you guys a special preview. You can also view previews, promotions and giveaways on my fanpage:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/DeviantCandy/123731170980800?ref=ts
I know that people love the goodies around Christmas and I decided to zombify one of our classics: gingerbread men! They are all handmade and created from polymer clay, acrylic paints and a touch of patience. Their eyes also glow in the dark!
For sizes, the smallest is under and inch and the biggest is barely over an inch. They are great for fun Christmas ornaments, keychain's, or humorous necklaces around the holidays!
Close up...

Fear
As promised, I decided to create another Cyclops pendant again! This time, I decided to put a theme with it: fear. I wanted to capture fear and put it into the pendant itself. I hope that I succeeded and that you will see what I'm talking about.
I have recently been playing around with emotion in my projects. I think this latest project, helped me focus on molding the clay to express itself. If these pendants become a fan favorite then I will make about five total.
My next idea is to do mouths and lips. I don't know how I will execute it, but I hope that I will capture emotion in that as well. I have only started to work with polymer clay since October, I hope to improve by this coming Halloween.
Here is my project "Fear" that I have been describing to you. I hope that you enjoy it and look forward to more cyclop pendants!
If you want to learn more about my projects, you can follow my fanpage at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/DeviantCandy/123731170980800?ref=ts
I would love to connect with other artists in my genre, so forget to add my blog and tell your zombie loving friends!

Surreal inspiration...
This is my first post, so it will be a short one. I have been busy with my horror creations. My recent horror creation, was inspired by old movie posters. I don't recall, what this one was inspired by exactly, but the image itself was stuck in my mind all night.
I wanted the skin to look real and I wanted the eye to look like it had been suffering. I wanted the wearer and admirers to feel something for the pendant. I have been striving to capture personality in my pieces and I think that the "Cyclops" pendant helped me do just that!
I hope that you can see what I was trying to capture. I want to make more surreal pieces like this and I think I will turn this into a series.
I suppose you're wondering how I made this? I layered the skin and made my own batch of blood. The eye is bought locally and I drew the design myself.
I think that my art has improved over the past year. However, I wouldn't be this confident, without the support of my family and friends. I recently met some good people on Etsy and I'd like to give them a quick shout out.
Thank you for supporting me and believing in my work. I couldn't have done it without you guys!
If there are any horror artists out there, please contact me! I'd love to connect with other artists in my genre.
I guess that's all I have for now, but I will make another post tomorrow. I have a lot to show you guys!
